A Case of Congenital Rubella Syndrome



Abstract
Rubella is usually a mild, often subclinical disease involving school-age children and young ?adults. the rubella virus, which is capable of crossing the placenta, may infect the fetus, c?causing fetal death or congenital malformations.
Congenital
rubella syndrome is very rare due to rubellla vaccination. The clinical manifestations of congenital rubella syndrome are quite ?ariable, consisting of IUCR, deafness, cataract, cerebral palsy, congenital heart disease etc. ?ecause rubella virus
affects
all fetal organ system.
We expirenced a cases of congenital rubella symdrome manifesting ceerebral palsy, VSD, microcephaly, and seizure. Diagnosis was done by clinical manifestations, brain MRI, CT, and positive serum rrubella specific IgG.
This case was presented with brief review of literatures.
